THE KYRENIA TRAIL
was pioneered by four British residents (the Over the
Hill Gang) who, by trial and error have found a continuous route on mountain
tracks from Koruçam Burnu in the West to Zafer Burnu in
the East.

The Route is some 220 kilometres long and much of
it is along the ridge of the Kyrenia Range affording excellent views in all
directions.
Sections of the Trail have been divided into
short, medium and long walks. Details of these are shown under
Guided Tours.
For those who wish to walk the entire Trail, please refer
to
Kyrenia Range Trek.
Along the trail there are various places of
interest: Crusader castles, interesting villages, churches/monasteries,
mosques, a reservoir, the Herbarium and from November to May many wild flowers.
The weather: Fortunately for those who live here
it does rain in the winter and spring; fortunately for those on holiday, it
does not usually last long! July and August are too hot, but for the rest of
the year the weather is usually good for walking.
